Q: What does SAFE stand for?
A: SAFE stands for Steel Abrasive Finishing Equipment. When we started the business, we pioneered ways to recover and recycle steel grit used in surface preparation. Since that time we have used other blasting mediums based on the type of surface material and the profile required. Silica Sand is strictly forbidden for use in SAFE Systems, Inc. Equipment. Q: Does SAFE make sandblasting equipment? A:No, our abrasive blasting equipment typically uses steel grit and other recyclable abrasives. Steel grit and some other abrasives are recyclable, thus minimizing your liability for hazardous waste. Silica sand cannot be used in SAFE Systems’ equipment. Q: Does SAFE do abrasive blasting? A: We design and manufacture the equipment used by painting contractors and manufacturers of steel objects requiring surface preparation, but we don’t do the blasting ourselves. We do spend time in the field with our customers to better understand our cutomers needs. Q: What are your equipment design capabilities? A: We are constantly innovating, utilizing sophisticated 3D modeling with Finite Element Analysis to continuously find ways to improve field productivity and throughput. If one of our standard pieces of equipment doesn't meet your specifications, we are happy to customize a solution for you. Q: What is a blast facility? A: Blast facilities are typically enclosed rooms or buildings in which steel objects such as shipping containers, steel pipes, railroad cars, or other manufactured items are blasted with abrasives. Most facilities include a specialized floor which aids in the recovery, reclassification and recycling of the blasted grit. Blast facilities are frequently located in close proximity to paint rooms. Q: Does SAFE Systems build dust collectors? A: Yes, we build a range of portable dust collectors, with a choice of electric or diesel power. Select your dust collector according to your airflow needs. We offer dust collectors with airflow capabilities rated from 4,500 CFM to 30,000 CFM. Q: Can I order parts and products directly from this web site? A: You can’t complete an order online, but we have made it much easier to submit orders. We provide online order request forms for our most frequently ordered parts including charge valves, metering valves, pinch valves and dust collector filters along with standard products such as Enduroguard© cable, deadman switches and blast lights. Simply select the desired items, indicate the quantity, and provide your contact information. The form will automatically calculate pricing and send your order request via e-mail. We will confirm the quantity, shipping details, final pricing, and payment terms with you within 24 hours of receipt. Q: Do you build vacuums? A:Yes, we build a range of portable vacuums ranging in size from 100 horsepower to 200 horse power with capacity ranging from 2100 CFM free air to 3700 CFM free air. Q: Do you carry higher capacity, or continuous blast vessels? A: Yes, we have built dual chamber blast vessels capable of handling 50 tons of abrasive.
