Precoat material is added to the air stream at start-up when new filters have been installed.  It creates a "dust" build-up on the filters that increases their efficiency and helps prevent captured dust from becoming deeply embedded in the media which shortens the filter life.

The magnehelic or differential pressure gauge measures the difference in pressures on the "clean" and "dirty" sides of the filter.  SAFE Systems' dust collectors use reverse pulses of compressed air to clean dust from the filter media.
