Ventilation and dust collection must be an
integral part of any blast facility. Ventilation serves to remove the
dust that a blasting operation produces. The dust must be removed to
keep visibility as high as possible and to keep surfaces as clean as
possible.
The dust collector is generally located close by the blast enclosure to
minimize the distance the dust must be transported. Using reverse
pulsing, cartridge filter dust collectors is a good way to effectively trap
the dust so it can be disposed of properly. Environmental regulations
generally require a "clean air plan" for any blasting operation, whether in
a fixed facility, an outdoor location or on a job site.
